Will she be ok? Everything is supposed to be sterilised but her bathwater obviously is not - especially as it had her mucky bum in it!

She is breastfed in case that makes a difference...

Do you know, I'm not sure I can cope with the worry - I am worrying about EVERYTHING....

Oh sweetheart - I really do wonder who terrorises new mums into being so worried about things.... it's not fair! Babies are really so much more resilient that you are led to believe.

The only reason you need to sterilise bottles etc is just in case you haven't washed them properly - if you are thorough in washing them, you don't even need to sterilise those. Do not start sterilising spoons, bowls, toys etc - it's just not necessary.

You should save this thread for when DD is a few months old and (as others have said) is licking all manner of revolting things.

Do try to relax and enjoy her - she really wont break that easily x :)

Oh lovely, do try not to or you will look back at this time with regret. There really isn't very much at all you can do wrong with them :) Love her, feed her, put her to sleep in a safe position and it will all be fine :)

If there's anything else specific you are worrying about - tell us, we can help you not to worry!

Yes - BM is good for any gunk in their eyes - including the horrid gunk they get if they get conjunctivitis :)

I second memoo. You sound like you're doing a fab job. Have a tea and put your feet up for a minute. This made me smile op. Enjoy your lovely baby, they grow so quickly.

Ps. My dd1 ate her poo at some point. Let her sleep in nappy, sans vest to stop her removing nappy... She's now 8 yrs old and healthy and fit

I still remember a post on here a while back from a woman in late pregnancy who was wanting advice on how to sterilise her new baby gym.

OP, I think new mum hormones make us worry a lot. When my DD was 11 days old I was beating myself up for not having a proper bedtime routine yet and just putting her down to sleep in her day clothes, not PJs, etc. The worrying is inbuilt. And it goes away. Promise.

I hope so! I am NOT this teary worrying woman... I am 38 fgs!

Hormones hormones hormones. Probably just nature overcompensating to make sure we don't accidentally leave our pfbs in the wildebeest cave by mistake.
