Is medised the same as calpol + piriton? I gave this combination once to my ds (16 months at the time) after checking with our GP. He was knocked out for about 4 hours in the daytime so haven't done it again!

Medised contains two active ingredients, paracetamol and diphenhydramine hydrochloride.

Piriton contains chlorphenamine.

Diphenhydramine and Chlorpheniramine are both first generation antihistmines. They are not the same drug but belong to the same category of medicines.

That explains why he was so knocked out then!

Yes, on advice of a GP (and for more than a plain cold).
