Phlegm in DD causing her to vomit

Any ideas please as to how to help DD? She's 17 months old (nearly) and has a cold. Especially at night she's coughing phlegm which is then causing her to be sick - though this can happen after a bottle feed of milk as well. We've got olbas oil in her room to try and help clear her nose.

Any ideas welcome.

Marking place for later. We are having this exact problem with our 7mo dd2. Been happening on and off for 6 weeks. Thought it was a dairy intolerance so kept her off dairy and it stopped. But it's come back this week, along with foot long trails of snot!

My ds is 6 and this still happens, i just ride it out, i havent found anything that helps, i do the usual propping him up and rubbing on vicks!

Lay her face down on your lap and massage her back and sides. This will help bring the phlegm up with less coughing, so less likely to cough up the contents of the stomach.

Cheers for that. Poor DD has always been a sicky baby and everytime she gets a cold she vomits - poor little girl.

How do you get them to spit the phlegm up. Dd is only a baby so just swallows it which I am sure is contributing to the sickness.

I have heard of Mums who use some sort of tool to clear blocked noses (otherwise I'm sure someone mentioned on here that they cleared their child's nose by sucking it - yuck!)

DD was sick twice yesterday evening in her bed - poor mite this isn't doing her any good at all.
