Molluscum: does this mean it's going?

Dd (4 yo) has had molluscum for about a year now, in her groin and all over the backs of her legs--it didn't bother her much for a long time but it is starting to now so I was thinking about trying pricking or squeezing among some of the other things suggested on here. However, in the last couple of weeks a few of them have started to go on their own. Does anyone know if this means the lot are about to clear up? If so I'll hold off on interfering with them but if it's just these few on their way out I'm inclined to take action.

We had that problem on my two youngest dc. It did seem to clear up almost overnight. The scars are just fading now and there have been no spots for 3 weeks now. I am seriously hoping that is the end of it.
tbh nothing we did seemed to make any difference to the spots.

You just have to be patient. Only time will get rid of them ime.

I just wondered if they were going by themselves soon. If a few start to go does that mean they all will or do they tend to come and go during the course of the infection?

They do tend to wax and wane but on my dcs there have always been some spots - until 3 weeks ago. On ds (on his face) they just all fell of in one day and none have appeared since. On dd ( under armpit and all down her left side) they seemed to be getting bigger and more widespread and then about 4 days after ds's cleared dd's went too.

All that is left are scars but definitely no spots. I have everything my fingers crossed that it is finished. Poor dd has really suffered and ds has had some nosey odd comments and stares with them being on his face.

My DD had them between the ages of 3 - 4.5. They individually came and went, with the exception of a nasty one on her leg for which I needed to use steroid and antibiotic cream (prescribed by GP for a while) as it became infected and remained unpleasant throughout the course of her infection. I never picked or squeezed, was worried about it hurting her! They will go of course but you may continue to get new ones even when this current batch goes. If she's had them for a year though there should be light at the end of the tunnel approaching sometime soon. Good luck!

Thanks everyone, I will wait a bit and see what happens.

my ds had this for 12 months. Then they slowly started getting smaller and finally disapeared over about 2 weeks. Sounds like you are at the end of it, yay!
