heat rash and creams

Hello,

My two-year-old has a heat rash all over his back and some of his tummy. In this weather he is sleeping just in his nappy (it's 23C in his bedroom right now, during lunchtime nap). Anyway, as he has also just had chickenpox - and has some large pock marks on his back as well - I was slathering him with E45 in an attempt to help heal the scars. Could the E45 have caused/worsened the hat rash, does anyone know?

I am loathe to stop E45-ing him, because I want his back to be moisturised to help the scarring.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks in advance if you can offer any advice!

I think the e45, while moisturising, is probably not helping the rash. Maybe a plain emollient such as Hydromol, which is basically a mix of soft and liquid paraffin would be more soothing and keep his skin hydrated.

If it itches the old favourite calamine in aqueous cream would also bd soothing. (calamine is great not just for active chickenpox)
