Go to the GP if you are. They can identify/rule it out very quickly.

My eldest drank alot at that age (3 pints a day of very dilute juice) and I was worried about diabeties. I brought it up with my HV and she went through the other symptoms, and it was clear I just had a very thirsty girl. She is now almost 5 and still drinks loads more than her sister and peers. Just the way she is.

The upside is that it was easy to potty train her when she was ready because she always had a full bladder so learned to control it within 48 hours!!

I'd go and ask if you are worried though. Better to be checked out for peace of mind.

Thank you. That makes me feel a bit better!
He is a very hungry child, but hasn't lost weight and doesn't over sleep IMO. No idea about sight but he doesn't appear to have any issues......although he isn't walking yet and when he toddles he is very wobbly?! I think that's most of the other concerns isn't it??

Oh, and my eldest thirsty girl didn't walk until 17 months, so I wouldn't worry about that.

And my HV said that the thirsty symptom means that they are not just thirsty in the day but will wake up in the night very very thirsty as well.
