WARTS!

Does anyone know how to get rid of warts please? My dd has had warts which have been increasingly spreading and growing for the last two and a half years.

I have tried everything including: salicylic acid, freezing (in another country where they allow it for babies), dermasil (ordered from internet), thuja (both applied on skin and internally) and Bazuka extra. Nothing has worked and they are really stubborn and causing my dd pain.

I am relieved that so far they have not made it to her face but it is only a matter of time i think as they keep coming. We have been a referral to a specialist who says there is nothing else that they can do. However I don't believe this:

I have come accross a web site which tell about these methods:

"'Cantharidin' is another treatment that can help to treat warts. It is similar to freezing in that it destroys the skin around the wart, but it is less painful when it is applied. It may hurt a little once the blister forms though.
Neither of the above treatments actually kills the virus that causes warts, they just kill the skin in which the virus is growing.
'Aldara' (imiquimod) is a newer, non-destructive treatment for warts. It is a cream that was first used to treat anogenital warts, but is now being used more to treat other types of warts and molluscum contagiosum. It is applied to the warts three times a week, either with or without an occlusive dressing. You might need to soak and then pare or trim down the wart and then apply Aldara for it to work well.
Other treatments may include using a pulsed dye laser, injection of bleomycin or interferon, application of Retin-A liquid, or taking oral cimetidine".

Does anyone know anything about any of these or other methods that might help. DD immune system is not brilliant and she also gets digestive problems and hayfever etc so this might not be helping.

Thank you in advance.

are they warts or is it molluscum contagiosum? If it is MC then I wouldnt use wart treatments on them. I used zymaderm and colloidal silver on dd's but in the end they went away by themselves

It is definately warts - have just been checking out images of molluscum contagiosum. I have re-occuring varruca / warts myself which i have freezer treatment for.

Someone on here suggested using dandelion sap on molluscum spots and when i read up on it, the sap has been used for years to get rid of warts! Sure enough it has worked on DDs molluscum spots. Worth a try on your DDs warts! :) Just pick a few dandelions and squeeze some sap from the stem onto the wart and cover with a plaster. I think you are supposed to repeat this 3 days later.

is it worth getting her immune system tested? There was a girl on embarrassing bodies who had voracious veruccas and it was because her immune system was shot and she couldn't fight them off herself. Don't want to be alarmist,no idea how bad your case is but might be worth raising with dr.

Sorry for long pause before coming back and thank you for your responses if you are still there!
Will try dandelion sap! Will try anything now to get rid of the things. she is a pretty little thing and they are really nasty.
Did think about the immune system. Have mentioned it to doc before but they poo pood me and said that it was nothing to do with her immune system. Howvever, after research I think there is some evidence the contrary. she has been on laxatives for constipation until recently and is still on movical for a while so her digestive system has not been brilliant. This I suspect might be the factor which has supressed her immune system and has resulted in these warts being so previllent. Will go back to doc next week (one that I am seeing myself who does test for things!) and ask for it to be rechecked. I am really annoyed actually as I wrote a letter to get her refered to a specialist and they said that there was nothing more they could do! however the warts are spreading and there must be something underlying that is causing it to spread this way. She has had them for over three years and the last twelve months they have spread worst than before.
Thanks for your feedback. All appreciated.
