Medical id bracelets

I've been scouring the internet looking at these but would like to know if anyone can recommend 1 from personal experience. I'm looking for a fabric band for a boy.

I've looked at the medic alert site and really like their bands because it has such a clear snake/staff symbol, but I'm not keen to pay an annual membership fee. On the bands from other sites the symbol seems alot smaller and not so clear - what do those of you who've bought a bracelet think?
Thanks

I had one by medic alert as an adult and the annual fee is there because they keep your details up to date. They do seem to be the nicest ones available.

Perhaps ask at a jewellers for help?

I had a medic alert one, and tbh, I think the annual fee gives great peace of mind, as you update your details (medical/drs/medication/contacts etc) whenever you want. As only a tiny bit of info can be actually on the bracelet, it is great to know that anyone involved in care can ring and get much more extensive info.

I bought a small fabric medical alert bracelet for my son from icegems.co.uk I just searched on google. The one I chose for my son has trucks on the strap and a small metal plate engraved with words of your choice. My son is only 2 so I felt he didn't need the full service provided by medic alert yet. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your replies. Tidypidy, I've looked at icegems and like their bands but the actual snake/staff symbol looks quite small and then he would need to have diabetes engraved on the front. Does it they symbol look very noticeable? His hospital team say service provided by medic alert is not needed - he's diabetic I guess medical staff would know how to treat any insulin dependant diabetic.

In my experience it's worth paying Medic Alert. They are the best known, and for your fee, everytime even the smallest detail alters - contact phone numbers, doctor's address, medication levels, they change their records for you free of charge. They are also recognised internationally so it's peace of mind if you go abroad.

We got ours from universalmedicalid my son loves his and when his best friend came to up to stay with us the other week he has the same one. They are hard wearing and even with my DS trying hard to destroy his in one way or another it appears to be lasting well

Thanks for everyones help and suggestions. I was very tempted by the ibandco bands cos they are a bit different and like the fact that there's no metal but in the end thought it might be a bit difficult for anyone to find the medical info in an emergency. We went with an engraved kids band from icegems.
