skin care products for dd, age 9 - what to use?

dd is 9, and has started with the occasional spot. she wears glasses and they are appearing around her nose in particular, where her specs sit. now she's getting a bit older, i have no idea what's around for girls of her age these days, and thought stuff like clearasil was probably aimed at teens.

is there anything?, or is she too young to start with all that malarkey? (ie, stick with just a little soap and water for now)

I don't know but I'll be watching this with interest as my ds has a few blackheads on his nose and a few little spots on his forehead.
My instinct is not to get any creams or lotions as he is too young (11) but I don't want him to suffer with spots like I did.

i watched britain's next big thing the other day and there was a lady pitching to boots with a range for kids of this age, which is what made me think about it more seriously. my instincts are she's still too young, but am also aware she is growing up (and out!).

I was lucky enough (hahahahahaha) to enter puberty at 9 with all the joys that entailed... my mum encouraged face washing morning and night with a mild soap and flannel and warm water. After the initial oily spotty phase I had great skin. She also force fed us a large spoonful of malt extract/cod liver oil every day too. Ironically I love the stuff now but find it tough to find anywhere!!!

A simple soap can be found at www.skinsalveation.com.It is most famously known for its success combatting eczema and psoriasis but I use it it for general skincare with fantastic results in general skin condition.

Have a look at www.skinsalveation.com.They produce a very simple soap as part of their range of products. These include cream, shampoo, laundry powder all used to combat eczema for many years.
The soap is brilliant for daily use,it almost acts like a beauty soap it cleanses and leaves your skin with a wonderful sheen

My dd wears glasses too, and had this problem. I got her some Simple face wipes to use where her glasses sit, and that really helped. She found that it's really importatnt to wait til the skin is completely dry before she put her glasses back on though, or it actually made it worse.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish is what mine will be starting on. Massage in, its got lavender, rosemary, eucolyptus. Massage off with the muslin cloth wrung out in warm water -thats the Polish part. Used daily you get a gentle exfoliating effect.Suitable for any skin type and pretty well any age, has won loads of awards. It is pricey but lasts ages and if you go to QVC you get a 30 day money back guarentee. And no, I don't work for Liz Earle or QVCSmile
