Does this sound like a reaction to sun cream? Eczema related.

My dd has had bad ezcema covering pretty much all over her body over the last month, following an allergic reaction to tomatoes. It has been very difficult to get under control and we have only managed to do so over the last few days by applying eumavate twice a day as well as moisturiser.

On Sunday, we put suncream on her arms. That evening her skin appeared clear, but by this evening (48 hours later), her arms were covered in the beginnings of ezcema and she had a rash all over her torso and back. Does this sound like it could be a reaction to the suncream? Does it generally take this long to come up? I get very bad ezcema on my hands if I use high factor sun cream, but it doesn't spread to my whole body, like this seems to have.

i have eczema, not caused by anything that we know of, and i have had to deal with it my whole life. it doesn't look like i will ever grow out of it.

my routine is very similar, a good moisturiser and eumavate for flare ups

sun cream always caused my skin to react so this could be the cause, however its a bit unusual for it to come up this late. other causes may be stress related? or heat exposure? which also triggers my own skin.

try using baby sun cream, tescos do a good own brand factor fifty which i honestly couldn't live without. to begin with, use on a concentrated area a see if this has any affect?

hope this helps!

anymore questions please ask! i really want to help people in the same situation i was in, so they dont have to spend years working it out for themselves.

My DD (8), has a severe allergy to sun tan lotion, there is only 1 brand she can use. In the past, when she has come into contact, accidentally with another lotion, she develops a raised, spotty rash. After a couple of days it turns to very sore eczema lasting for three weeks. It is possible that sun tan lotion is causing the eczema. We use pro-derm sun mousse, available in Boots, which has been developed for children with eczema and allergies.

Thank you both very much for your suggestions. I will try to get hold of the sun creams that you recommended and see what happens.
