Evening all, I'm after some advice. My DD is 3 and had CP over a month ago, she had them bad and wad absolutely covered. She is all better now thank goodness but has scars on her back and a few bad ones on her face.

I thought she'd been quite good about not scratching when she had them, we used lots of remedies to try and stop the itch but these deep pitted scars have appeared on her face.

Any been here before? Will they go with a bit more time? Is there anything i can use? I heard bio oil, vitamin e cream or scar removal cream may work?

bio oil is good, we used it too but truthfully the best treatment we found was on holiday , sea and sun did wonders as my 2 DD's were also completely covered (terrible stares on the journey over but they were not contagious)so if at all possible lots of sunshine (within reason) and if not foreign holiday get a paddling pool??
There is a scar healing gel but cannot remember the name of it, sorry. The DD's are 10 & 13 and now have only 1 small pox mark each.
summer is on its way so give it a bit of time, I know its upsetting, good luck.

She's young. I had some scars till I was in my 20's from chicken pox caught at 4...then one day I looked for them and realised that at some point they had gone! The younger they have it the better, young tissue repairs better, but any big marks may be more permanent.

Thanks both for the advice that's encouraging. I know what you mean coansha about ppl staring i've found myself saying she's not contagious it's just chicken pox!!! Hopefully with time they will go.
