Im hoping someone can help me on this one. My DD is 9 months old and has always loved the bath. She was ill all last week with a bug and went off her food and she hated going in the bath. She is much better now but she still screams when i put her in the bath. And when i say scream I mean scream. It's really distressing and i am wondering if there is something else wrong with her.? Has anyone else experienced this at all? do you think there would be something wrong with her bits down below?

Thanks for reading and hopefully someone can help me.

Have a look and see if they look sore.

Otherwise I just wouldn't bother bathing her for a few days. Just give her a wash and then try reintroducing baths.

Agree - leave the baths for now. She could be tired, still not 100% recovered and just doesn't want one.

When you do decide it's time for a bath again try getting in with her, don't even put her in the water, just hold her and step in and stand in it so she can see your feet swishing around in the water etc...then depending on her reaction you may have to not bath her that first night, but do the same the second night etc until the fear of the bath subsides. My DS loved baths when he a baby/toddler and then one day when he was about 18 months old we had a leak under the bath and my husband pulled the bath panel off and for some reason this petrified DS and he would not go near the bath after that, just screamed and screamed and panicked until I tried the method I've mentioned and on the second time of just carrying him while I stood in the water he let me put him in and then all seemed ok after that. It's probably that your DS has formed some association with the batha nd when she felt ill perhaps.
