He had a runny nappy last night and this morning again after crying with what seemed to be a belly ache. Hes also sicked up quite a bit of his bottle the last 2 feeds. He trended to do this when i mixed formula and breast but stopped when i realised.

Should i be worried? see how his next poo is?

What was the poo like? What is it normally like?

Bfed poo ime is always runny and this is normal. Sort of mustardy in texture and yellow in colour. We only knew of a problem if it changed colour or the smell changed.

The poo was like yellow water and the worst smell ever! His poos are normally yellow normal poos, not runny or hard just normal. Yes mustardy.

He only has a couple of ounces of brestmilk a day so i dont think its because of that. He mustve had a real bellyache, he was screaming when he was pooing and wriggling in pain bless him.

Think im gonna see what the next ones like, might just be a one off.

Oh dear. Poor ds. With a baby that tiny, I'd be really, really careful because dehydration can happen very quickly. Sounds like diarrhoea to me.

Still feeding normally? Keep a close eye on him. Assuming he's still pooing several times a day, there'll be another poo along soon. If it's still happening I'd be popping to the GP to be on the safe side.

DD didn't have a stomach bug until 10 months so never dealt with it in such a tiny one.

I wouldve popped to my local clinic but its not open until tomorrow. Yes i will be keeping an eye, hes not eaten as much has he normally does now i think about it. Ill see how he goes the rest of the day thanks.

If you can't get to a clinic today, call NHS direct. They are very helpful. If you're still worried take baby to A&E. Even if they tell you not to worry, they won't mind at all and you'll feel reassured you did the right thing.
If the baby seems listless or floppy or he cries in a wierd way, or not at all, you should take him straight to a&E.

I would see a GP today, such young children can dehydrate really really quickly.

Rung GP and doc rung me back, she said if it continues get back in contact, as hes only done 2 runny nappies she didnt seem too concerned about it. My minds at rest a bit now, thanks everyone!
