11 month old, won't drink

My 11 month old has absolutely refused all milk for 2 full days. He'll drink water reluctantly but is definitely not getting as much fluid. He's eating solids happily so i've given more yoghurt / dairy. He's teething and is getting over a cold. When do I worry about dehydration? He's active and happy enough but he's getting around half the fluids he usually takes.

Keep an eye out for dry nappies and the inside of his mouth being dry. If he shows signs of either of them then he needs to be seen

Hi, how is he taking (or rather not!) his milk. I found that when DD was getting her top front teeth recently she refused all milk for a couple of days as the sucking made her hurt. Apparently something to do with the sucking action increasing the blood flow to the gums so they swell a bit and hurt more.

I made milky porridge or cereal for breakfasts, gave juicy fruits (she seemed to like oranges as they were juicy and she could chew them).

Whatever it is, hopefully it will pass soon.

he's also getting top teeth through so i think he doesn't want to suck for the same reason - i.e. it hurts. will try juicy stuff. his nappies are OK and he's constantly dribbling. will keep a close eye on it.

I would see if he will sip from a cup so he doesnt have to suck. May be messy but it may help get fluid in

Make some ice lollies from fresh juice and water, maybe with some berries thrown in. Helps with the teething too.

try a straw. DD (12m) will drink anything that has a straw attached to it. Seem to bypass the bottle sucking pain issue.
