What could cause blood in urine with no other sign of infection?

My DD2 (2) had blood in her urine when I took her to the GP with a fever last week. The GP said there were no other signs of infection and it could be to do with the fever or something wrong with the kidneys. She asked us to go back today. We did. Fever all gone but blood was still present. Now we have to see a paed (she has already been referred to one to investigate anaemia so they have expedited that appt).

Im trying not to google buts its hard. Why is my baby anaemic and why does she have blood in her urine?

Is it gross blood or microscopic? Does she have any protein loss?

I could not see the blood. The Gp found it wen she did the dip test. She said the rest of her urine result was normal so presumably no protein loss. But that was just a dip test. She has sent the urine off for more tests.

I had blood in urine +++ for many years since a teen (now in my 40s), it was never dx as anything and put down to one of those things. It worried me from time to time, but tried to put it out of my mind. Every test I had ever had showed this and I also had scans with no result as such.
But a few years ago my ds had to go gluten free and so did it, well, ever since not only I feel better but I no longer have blood in urine :)

When researching this b/c of my ds (gluten sensitive), I have come across a mention of this on gf forum too and have also found out that it can lead to kidney damage over many years, but it can also be reversible on diet. Low iron/anaemia is one of the common symptoms of gluten intolerance too, so this would be one avenue you could explore.

It could be as simple as cutting down on wheat as the problems with gluten are cumulative, so they don't hit you day1, they just build up over time.
