What can I do to perk ds up?

He's just coming out of the worst cold I've ever known him to have. He had a temperature for a week and was miserable, had nasty sinus pain and a sore throat for a good two weeks. He seems to be out of it now, but he's so lack lustre. He's always tired, but I can never get him to take a nap. His behaviour is really affected by how tired he is and how run down he is. Thankfully his appetite has returned, he didn't eat for two weeks, but it's fairly limited anyway.

Whenever I'm recovering from a nasty cold or such like I take a Seven Seas vitamin tonic or some Pharmaton which seems to really help and perk me up again. Is there something similar for children? He's 3.6 btw.

You can get junior versions of good multivits for children.

My DS like Vivioptal for kids. My ever so fussy nephew says it tastes like Fanta. Minadex is another one I know friends use.

Thanks for that Buda, I'm popping out to Boots now so I'll see if they've got any. I know it's not going to work straight away, but I thought if I could set him along the road to recovery he'd be able to do the rest himself. He's just so flat these days and it makes him so weepy which is really unlike him. He's also really clumsy at the moment which I'm sure is down to his tiredness. He's got no co-ordination any more, and this from a child who could easily ride a scooter at 18 months.

I got the Vivioptal for DS when he was 3 or 4 after a particularly nasty flu too. If your DS doesn't perk up in a week or two I would take him to doc for a thorough check. Don't want to panic you but the lack of co-ordination would worry me.

It worries me too. I'm hoping it's just tiredness, he's not falling over all the time or anything that might indicate something neurological, but he's so tired he can't concentrate on things and drops stuff, or kicks things over accidentally. I've got some of the Minadex, will give him a week on it and see how he goes. He's due his MMR booster now but there's no way he's having it while he's so under the weather.
