no temperature but being violently sick

My DS is 20 months old and has been violently sick about 6 times in the last hour. He's never been sick before, so I don't really know what to do.
He doesn't have a temperature, and isn't distressed, but sort of sicky-lethargic (the way you are when ill, nothing sinister).
do I wait it out or take him to the GP (who probably won't be able to do anything and tell me to wait it out)? He's tried drinking some water which he promptly vommed back up.

He also has some sort of odd spotty rash under his skin around his wrists, ankles, cheeks and a few spots in other places, those are all skin coloured and look like zits before they start growing heads or anything.

Oh my DD (14mo) had something similar 3 weeks ago. As long as the rash disappears under pressure then it's probably just viral rash. If it doesn't go when pressed then see the doc, obviously!

Our GP wasn't that much help...we eventualy saw a paediatrician at A&E who advised giving a teaspoon of dioralyte every 5 minutes. You can give dioralyte for vomiting as well as pooing apparently.

The trick is to get tiny amounts of liquid into them to keep them hydrated. What I thought was "Little" i.e. an ounce or two of milk or water, turned out to be way too much and soon came straight back up again.

Ah well, my house was very clean after I washed all the soft furnishings DD had managed to shower Grin ...

well, I've just been out for an hour while DS was asleep on the sofa, came back and he's bouncing around with a bottle of water and a bag of haribo funny-mix (the vegetarian ones). apparently he hasn't been sick since I left... Husband says "It must be you". nice.

I'm wincing just imagining how the haribo is going to look when it comes back up...

flat non-diet 7up is another good one for settling stomachs if they won't take dioralyte. You can give it to them a drop at a time with a medicine syringe. Sounds like he is over the worst though (hope DH was on haribo cleaning duty... Smile)

Maybe you've invented a new 'cure' after all the sugar in Haribo will give energy and the gelatinous stuff may keep fluid glued to his innards!
