Sleeping positions for 6 month old

Hi,
Not quite sure where to post this....
DD is just over 6 months and when she goes for her daytime naps she quite often falls asleep on her front. I put her in her cot on her back, but she starts playing with her toys and starts rolling around. I know that it's a big no-no for them to sleep on their stomachs, and at night she stays on her back, but how necessary is it for me to flip her onto her back (and wake her up in the process)?
Grateful for any advice!

Thanks, and Happy Mothers' Day everyone!
X

Once your child can roll from front to back, then there's no need/point in forcing them onto their backs.

You can put her down on her back, but she can find her own position. Think of it more as it being a no-no to put them down on their fronts. There's no need to flip her over.

Thanks! She's less good at rolling from front to back, but is a demon at rolling back to front, but she can do it. But she can lift herself up on her arms very well and has started scooting around the floor on her stomach. I am sure she will be very happy not be manhandled by me in the middle of a nice nap Grin.

My ds slept so much better once he could get himself onto his front - naps went from 45 minutes to 2+ hours!
