Sun creams

I've also posted this in Products but has anyone used Ultrasun? It's meant to be 'once a day' but apparently can't make this claim anymore. I also can't find how long it does actually last for.

Both DSs (4 and 2) have had horrible eye streaming reactions to other creams, Nivea in particular that have been really unpleasant and painful. I'm hoping Ultrasun might be the one but don't want to test out its 'whole day' claims in the Canaries this May...

Experience? Ideas? TIA

I use Ultrasun on my DS - but have not tried it abroad, just wearing to school on very hot days as he never bothers to put it on himself. He is very pale and has sensitive skin and it has always been fine. I am not sure anything can last all day - especially if children are in and out of a pool/sea - can't see a problem with reapplying regularly.
Places like amazon sell ultrasun you could look in their reviews of the product for further insight.

Exactly - I just don't trust the 'all day' thing. Great idea on Amazon!

DD 8 has a severe allergy to suntan lotion and the only one she can use is pro-derm sun mousse. Last year, this product lasted for 8 hours after 1 application, and now like ultrasun, has had this claim removed. I think that the claim has been removed as a few children got sun burn as parents believed this. I always top the lotion every 2 hours as she is a fair skinned red head. Especially going abroad, I would top up the lotion regularly.

Have used ultra sun for years on myself and DC's and I am exceptionally pale. I find the once a day is absolutely fine even on a watersports holiday in Greece in August. Have never burned using it although do reapply if I am in water alot or active enough for it to get rubbed off. Am always careful to follow the instruction about applying it before exposure to sun or going in pool.

Pro-derm (or Bergaderm, it changes!) mousse is great. Doesn't aggravate eczema, easily applied with no mess etc. This was the only one I could trust the kids to use at play clubs.

I always topped it up after 4+ hours out,or after swimming, using factor 25 or above, and my ginger DS never burned. Our neighbours are blonde and successfully used it as an allday once only thing too.
