that was on banister and he ran into it ...so at least book moved rather than him hitting a solid non oving object

hard hardback heavy book though

was last night...and he cried and we put ice and then he asked to run aorund again so thought nothing of it

today noticed scratch on eyebrow but then when he looked down a blue bruise on eyelid which was hidden in fold

bruise is small and slightly blue but exactly on top of eyeball not on eyebrow bone level

he seems fine and nothing seems really swollen

am just worried book bumped his eyeball if you see what i mean...what should i do or lookout for...he wont let me lift eyelid to see under it eyeball red

anyone else have similar experience in past?

any info appreciated and thank you

I wouldn't worry too much about it if his eye looks normal; I stuck a sharp knife in my eyeball with no long-term effects, though my optician says there's a tiny scar.

(I was a teenager, agricultural accident.)

My DS1 (4) hit his eye on a tree branch - that night there was some grazing. 3 mornings later he woke up with his eye swollen shut. Took two days and two trips to A+E to get to the root of it which was the accident earlier in the week! Very scary. He was ok in 4 days.

Just keep an eye on him.

We have a lovely minor illness nurse at our GP surgery - do you have the same? Or a really nice GP who is good with young children? Wouldn't hurt to have it looked at.
A bump would be more likely to cause a little bruising which will get better after a few days. I very much doubt any serious injury has been caused. A doctor/nurse would be able to look closely at the eye and make sure it appears to be functioning normally.

No specific experience (that I know of!! Blush) but plenty of near misses - nasty bumps to cheekbones and heads etc. Really hideous.
