Lots of tiny white spots on my DD's face - can I do anything

My DD aged 10 has developed lots of tiny white spots underneath the skin on her face. They often look a little "irritated" underneath her eyebrow.

Has anyone else experienced this and have any advice please?

Possibly just needs to exfoliate - DS1 gets this when he hasn't washed his face properly after a lot of sport.

I don't know, but bumping for you

Are they like acne spots?

Sonnet · 24/03/2011 11:55

Thanks for responding. They are not like acne and are not inflamed at all except for a few under her eybrow which look a little red.

I have been getting her to wash her face but she has sensitive skin so have been concerned about anything too harsh. Have been trying simple face wash but she just does splash her face with water some nights. Her skin also seems rather dry.

cut out dairy for 2-3 weeks see if it makes a diff. my three yr old gets this and he is mildly dairy intolerant. oatly milk with added calcium best substitue for taste and nutrition. 1.20 asda

I get these sometimes and a beautician said they were caused by fluid from sebaceous glands trapped under the skin by a fine layer of skin. You can have them 'popped' by a beautician but the best way is exfoliation by a professional as they would use products for sensitive skin. Yes they are called milia.

it sounds like a bit of sebaceous eczema starting. Her hormones may be changing and it could be the start of a few spots and an increase in sebum production prior to getting a greasier skin as youngsters do.

Try cleaning the skin around the eyes with Johnson Baby shampoo diluted 1:4 with water around the eye areas.
