DS was sick a week ago today - violently, but hasn't been since.

He has been completely off his food since, though today he has managed a bit more than he has the rest of the week.

He is in amazing spirits and has been at pre school, bouncing around the living room, jumping up and down and making an assault course with all the cushions Grin.

Anyway, a couple of things are bothering me.

First of all, with all his jumping around, I can really hear his juice/food sloshing about in his tummy which I don't normally.

Also, his tummy is very very bloated - it actually looks like it's going to burst.

I've asked him hundreds of times this week if he has a sore tummy, but he keeps saying no.

I am a bit of a hypochondriac so I am really worrying that it might be that intussuseption thing which I believe is very serious.

His poos have not been as regular but look perfectly normal, he is fine within himself and doesn't appear to be in pain (can't really take his word for it).

What would you do?

intussuseption and and blockage of the bowel is very painful and the tummy would gradually become more rigid and the child more shocked, pale, clammy, lethargic. There would also be vomiting, eventually turning dark green and then vomited faeces.
It sounds as though there is a lot of gas still being produced from the previous bowel upset. Try a bland diet, plenty of water (no fizzy drinks or pure fruit juice) and probiotic drinks and yoghurts. It take a while for the normal bacteria to recolonize

Thank you sneezecakesmum Smile

Are you saying that it would be unlikely that he would have been dancing around laughing and joking if he had something serious?

That looks really silly written down, as obviously that would be common sense, but I am such a terrible worrier!

He's had a lot of fruit today and quite a bit of apple juice so I'll put it down to that - oops Blush.

He sounds fine! Worry comes in a neat little package along with the baby they hand you. Does it ever get better? slightly, VERY slightly!
