Medised used to be available to younger kids right? Is the formula the same now? Why did they make it for 6 year olds and over? It element to unstuff noses is an antihistamine isn't it? Does that mean I could use my children's antihistamine to unblock DS's nose?

My GP has prescribed HUGE bottles of calpol to me. The pharmacist was a bit Hmm but GP knows we are a low income family and felt that it was justifiable to do so.

She also prescribed him children's nurofen (actually unbranded equivelent) just because 'it's good to have in'.

Drs can definitely prescribe OTC medicines. Grin

In that case my pharmacist is an idiot!

In Scotland you can get painkillers & creams & other essential stuff free for kids or in fact anyone who doesn't pay prescription charges straight from the chemist - no doctor involved.

Here

It's great, you can just walk into the chemist & say that you need paracetamol & sudocrem & teething gel for instance & you just sign a prescription slip & they give it to you Smile
