Excessive Dribbling

Hi, my dd is coming on 22 months. She's had all of her teeth for about a month now. She is still dribbling a lot, which I would have expected to subside now. She has a dummy but with limited usage in the daytime. Her chin is now getting red and a bit sore which its never done before. I'm just wandering why she would still be dribbling. She has a tooth that had an injury about 7 months ago and will fall out and is loose, could this be causing it? Thanks

Hi CharlieBoo. I don't think its too much to worry about. My DD was a huge dribbler! To the point where she was sore too (chin and chest) She is 2 and a half now, and she too had a dummy but only when she was tired or when she went to bed. We took it away from her only about 3 months ago, and the dribbling has pretty much stopped, i was amazed at the difference it made as she didn't have her dummy all that much anyway. I'd say, if you think she's ready to give it up, then you may get drastic results when you take it away. As for the tooth injury i'm afraid i don't have any experience there, but if that is the cause then perhaps it will stop when the tooth comes out. Hope this has helped in some small way, and i hope the dribbling stops soon. xx

Thanks Angela! She just loves her dummy, I have worked hard to limit it but when she's very tired or grumpy I give in. She's so incredibly strong willed and will literally cry/tantrum for 15 mins until she is exhausted. I have wondered whether to just go cold turkey. I will have to as her mouth is getting sore! Thanks for the reply.
