Not sure if this is the right section - both my boys love cycling and running. At what age can this be channelled into joining a group? We live in West Sussex so any local suggestions as well as general would be welcome! (DS1 currently has swimming classes on a sat morning at 9am).

Hi. I am wondering if there is a reason that you want to put them into a group rather than do these things as part of your family routine? They sound like fun things for you to do with them, and its a good idea to start kids off young with excercise as part of their everyday life, not as a separate activity.

It's in addition to normal everyday life! eg. today spent 2.5 hours for 3 year old to cycle on seafront whilst 5 year old at school. Just keen to meet up with other active children and socialise.

Sounds like a fun day! I think it depends on your children as to whether you should put them into organised sessions. For the 5 year old, he already has school and swimming, are you sure you want to give him something else that is organised? Some Children need free time to play and chill, and I know from experience that if you take on activities, in a couple of years you will be running yourself ragged taking and dropping off. Why not invite their friends over to play with them, or take a few out to a park etc when you feel like it. Other mums might also like to join in something more informal.
