Who has the best choice for childrens glasses?

Does anyone know who has the best choice for children's glasses?

My 6 year old has been prescribed glasses today and we went to the local opticians and the glasses for boys were hideous. I don't want him to look like a geek!

I'd greatly appreciate any recommendations that might help me avoid traipsing around opticians with a 3 and 6 year old.

Cheers

David Clulow have a good range but not of the ones that are free with the prescription. I found Specsavers had the best range of the ones that are free. They also have some you can look at online.

Specsavers were the best for us

Ds has just had blue Garfield ones with stripey arms from Specsavers, and we have a spare Scooby Doo pair ordered because we had a freak sitting on them accident within 48 hours of having the first pair Grin.

Specsavers seemed to have a really good range - and our local one is only a small shop. They were brilliant with my DD too, she's only 5 and found the whole thing a bit overwhelming. We paid £20 on top to get a pair of the totally flexible frames (you can practically tie them up in knots) as I'm guessing 5 year olds would probably have quite a few accidents from sitting on/treading on/dropping etc! So far, so good...

Our 11 month old girl got pink specsavers glasses free with the nhs voucher. All the rubber on the inside of them turned blue which really darkens her wee face. Has anyone experience the same problem? I don’t mind paying a bit more to get her something that doesn’t change colour but I don’t know what brand is best. Any ideas?

Hi Tracey, did you manage to find anywhere? I have just ordered my son 2 pairs from Specsavers but There really wasn’t much choice for babies and I didn’t particularly like any of them. Don’t want to spend a fortune on private ones when he is so little either. Interested to hear your experience. Thanks!

Emma, I didnt manage to find any. However, we realised after our 3rd pair of frames in 4 months that the cloth was dying the rubber on the inside of the frames. We have gone to local opticians to check what else is available and I think we have done full circle because the specsavers ome seem to be the best fit on her at the minute. To be fair to specsavers they order other baby frames in for us but the wee NHS ones that she has seem to be the best so far in our opinion.
