I think DD has a verruca. How could she have caught it and what is the fastest way of getting rid of it? She will not let me stick a banana skin to her foot.

Oh, and is it infectious?

Very! Cover it in a changing room, don't let her do PE barefoot and buy a rubber sock if she wants to swim. Modern medicine will get rid of it soonest, so ask a pharmacist.

My GPs advice was that although they are infectious, there's no need to cover it unless swimming and then just a waterproof plaster is sufficient. He actually said he's be happy to share a pool with us on that basis, which is just as well, as he's a member at the same sports club!

He also said not to treat it, that left to it's own devices it would heal itself eventually and leave DS1 with some immunity.

It did clear up (took several months) and 5 years later, swimming at least twice a week, he's never had another. Smile

I have tried everything on mine, still got it, been two years at least! And yes they are infectious.

There was a thread on here recently about covering them with duct tape.

PurveyorOfWoo · 06/03/2011 20:44

Yes duct tape works. Apply a good bit daily. Eventually it will just peel away with the tape when you change it. Works within weeks.

DH is looking at me Hmm but thank you.

I got a freezing kit from Boots the other day and it seems to have worked fine on DS (have to be over 4).
