Hi,my ds2 from birth has always had one eye bigger than the other.I find it quite noticeable(sp) but noone has really mentioned it.

I think it looks worse in photos etc.He seems healthy otherwise and doesnt appear to have vision problems.Should I get this looked at? by doctor/opticians,thanks.

I think everyone's eyes are different? I know mine are, DD1 has one eye slightly larger than the other, DD2's ayes are noticeably different shapes and DSS has one eye positioned slightly higher than the other. If you are really worried I would mention it to your HV but as far as I am aware, as long as it's always been that way and not changed suddenly it's probably normal.

Hi there, when you say one eye is bigger do you mean the eyeball is bigger or is it that the eye lid drops on one eye? Either way, if he has no concerns in other areas and is achieving expected milestones then it's unlikely to need any attention although as noodles suggests a mention to your HV will reassure you.

Thanks everyone,I think its the surrounding eyelid that slants down slightly that makes it look a bit smaller.

Ds1 has glasses so Im kind of hoping/wishful thinking ds2 wont need them too,but I may be in denial about this.SmileI cant really explain why as ds1 looks lovely with his glasses and they have really helped him.

I'm going to mention it at his two year hv check up.

I think if you look closely, most people have different size eyes. just keep an eye out for changes.

BTW I didn't mean there is anything wrong with toddler/young kids having to wear glasses.
Its just in our experience it does hinder them somewhat at such a young age having to be careful and somehow stops them being so rough and tumble.
