DD is now nearly 14 and has always had delicate 'bits'. When she was a toddler she sufferred terribly with nappy rash - even when she was out of nappies - and we thought maybe she was dehydrated and her wee was too acidic, or that she may be allergic to the school loo roll etc etc.
She never uses bath products and I buy her special washing solution instead of soap. She never washes her hair in the bath in case it irritates. We struggle with school uniform as she finds tights itchy so doesn't wear a skirt (all the girls wear trousers from the same shop and they are synthetic)
When she was a baby she occasionally got thrush, so we have tried canasten but it doesn't help. Sudocrem is the only thing that vaguely makes a slight difference.
The thing is, she has never grown out of it and often complains. It seems to have got worse over the past year - not helped by her developing extremely large inner labia - we're talking 10-12 cm here and when you stretch them out they are like pancakes... We have tried every sort of knickers on the planet but she still gets her 'lips in a twist' and this added to the general soreness is a real problem.
I took her to the docs a few weeks ago to have a look , there is no nasty smells, odd discharge or any other sign of infection, and actually no real redness. She (the doc) thought her raging teenage hormones may not be helping (she only just had her first period last month)and that it may settle down. She did mention (in a roundabout way) labioplasty but she certainly wasn't recommending it! That's not the whole issue though.
I am really worried about her pain (ahe takes painkillers nearly every day as it hurts to walk to school) and her future sex life. At least I don;t need to worry about teenage pregnancy - I can;t see her wanting anyone getting anywhere near her......
Anyone had similar problems with a dd or themselves that can offer any advice?
