If your dc has high temp overnight but seems fine in the morning, do you send to school or keep at home?

Depends how long he's been up in the night, I suppose.

i think you're doing the right thing by keeping him at home, my 7yo has had a temperature all night and has just been sick. Better to be on the safe side.

KangarooCaught · 04/02/2011 07:55

If mine aren't looking virulently contagious or being bilious, generally I dose them up to be on the safe side and send them, as once there they are absolutely fine. But if they are very short on sleep having been up half the night, then I wouldn't.

Well he wasn't up for long in night and temp now down but he is still asleep so guess it's best to leave him be. Would normally have been up 45 mins ago. Thanks for replies.

My 5 yr old was up half the night with very high temp. he now seems much better, but a) he is tired b) he could be coming down with something and infectious - so have kept him home.

GoldenGreen · 04/02/2011 10:51

Glad I didn't get him up and send him - temp was up again when he woke up at 9.30 and his chest is covered in a pink rash. Virus I guess. He is happy enough though thankfully. Has just cheerfully told me that loads of children in his class have been off this week.

Glad your ds is better BeeBox. Hope he continues to improve.
