Yes please take him. They will refer him for hearing tests (2 on seperate occassions) and take it from there. They miss so much of they cant hear properly ( My DS couldnt hear much and grommits changed this for the better)

A trip to the GP might be a good idea. My youngest had glue ear (I thought she was ignoring me) and needed grommits. It's saved me a lot of shouting!

Ds was exactly the same (he was 4 at the time)

I took him to the GP who referred him to the hospital for hearing tests and in the end he needed grommets.

Hearing test was easy, he had to wear some headphones and every time he heard a noise, he had to slot a peg on a board in front of him.

The person doing the test was very good with him and actually DS was better when I waited outside and he went in by himself.

they are suppose to be doin hearin check at school that would be so much easier, hes more likely to have it done without me around, but they said this months ago and not heard anything else.did your ds have the itchyness?

OP posts:
simpson · 03/02/2011 22:49

no he did not have ichyness. But lots of ear infections (with pus) and I noticed his speech got a bit worse as he could not hear.

Also I was having to repeat myself constantly whn talking to him...

griffalo2 · 04/02/2011 13:31

i think his speech is worse too or hes got lazy.he was seein speech therepist since he was 3 and got so much better but now hes missing the important sounds..

Just wondering if its linked but he snores and heavy breaths at night although not everynight?
