DS1 says his head twitches when he is trying to get to sleep, watching tv or on PC

DS1 age 13 said he couldn't get to sleep last night because his head was twitching. Also does it when watching TV or on the laptop/PC.
Apparently been happening for a few months but has got worse over the last few nights to the point where he struggled to get to sleep.
This is the first time he has mentioned it to me.

He told me when it was happening while he was watching TV and i couldn't physically 'see' any head movement/twitching.

Any ideas what this could be? Should i make an appointment for him to see GP as soon as possible?

Does he play video games? I know of several kids that did this when they played games for too long including my nephew. My sil took him to drs etc but nothing was actually wrong with him. The cut back his playstation time. 10 years on he's fine.

He does but very limited time on PS3 ie about 3 hrs a week plus homework on the PC.
He doesn't think it happens when he is on the DS.

I would make an appointment to get him checked out with your GP tbh , could he be under any stress ? My ds goes through stages of twitching when he is under stress eg being bullied / exams coming up etc . Hope he gets a good nights sleep tonight .

I get nerves buzzing in my scalp - very disconcerting until all investigations showed no nasty causes and now I learn to ignore them.

DS says his head (at the top) "clicks" and I have never got my head around what he means.

If it is stopping him sleeping, continually re-curring then make an appt. You may get a Neurology referral and hopefully they can reassure him.

Thanks. Will make Drs appointment then. He can't really describe what is happening.
He is in yr 9 so there is some stress with GCSE options etc but he doesn't appear stressed about it.

Something to do with epilepsy perhaps?
