Hi. My dd is 2 (just) and I am now feeling like the Worst Mummy Ever. She has a runny nappy, nearly all the time. I have grown so used to the fact that most of her poos are not solid that I barely notice, but nursery gently mentioned that they are a bit concerned. Cue big guilt complex. In herself, she is fine, she eats well, v active - it's just most of her poos seep into her nappies, they are very rarely nice solid easy-to-clean ones! How normal is this? She eats a lot of fresh fruit etc - could this be the cause or is it more serious? May take her to the doctors to be sure but wanted general feedback from folks experienced in the contents of a nappy!
She has had a slightly sensitive tummy pretty much since she's been weaned, always a bit prone to upset tummies with rich food etc and I had put this latest run down to over-indulgence over Christmas followed by a birthday but it's not clearing up.

She also has a tendency to terrible nappy rash, and the two usually conincide which makes me think it's fruit like grapes and oranges -now cut out in favour of more mild and less acidic fruit.

I don't really know what I'm asking other than general opinions - anyone else deal with this sort of thing?

Much less fruit - cut her to one portion of fruit a day, making up the rest with cooked (NOT raw) vegetables such as swede and carrot mash and soft cauliflower.

Drop anything wholemeal out of her diet, put her on white bread, white pasta, white rice.

Ditch chocolate completely, this causes the diarrhoea in so many children.

Check her teeth - the teething won't help.

PS Ds2 was like this - also stopping wheaty cereal helped (no shreddies, no weetabix - swapped to porridge or rice crispies)
