38.2 temperature, stay home or go to school?

Friday it was 38.4. It says on her school policy to keep them home only if it above 39, which sounds awfully high.

DD (age 6) is out of bed, but still low in energy. I just don't know what to do because she has a tendency to try it on. We try to make being sick unattractive but she loves to sit around watching tv anyway. If we turn it off she screams about being bored and turns it on again.

Friday there were no sniffles, but she has sniffles now. She seems a bit miserable, but we had people over yesterday and she was ok, only a little grumpy.

(I kept her home Friday and she didn't move much; Saturday a bit better but still stayed in quietly all day)

I would keep her home. She is only likely to feel worse if you send her to school.

And 39 is very high for a no school policy, mostly it's 38 or 38.5.

I's say stay off. She won't have the energy to cope with school.

There is nothing wrong with her watching TV if she is all.

How has the school arrived at a cut off point of 39? Sounds bonkers to me - no sensible medical rationale there at all.

I am not used to this celsius thing, but 39 is 102. My mom used to keep us home if it was over 100. (38).

39?!? That sounds insane to me.

I would keep her home if its still raised, but if its been back down for 24 hours adn she seems ok, is eating, playing etc, it was probably just a cold.

Over 38 is moderate fever, so definitely stay home. Firstly, she will feel miserable if she goes and might get worse, secondly she might be infectious.
