Hi, could anyone pleas tell me, do i need to tell parents who's children my dd has being in contact with recently, that dd has just developed pox?

she has 3 spots which appeared last night. She also had high temp.

dd is 9 months and my first so no experience whatsoever with this!

Is it also the case, that some parents may want dc to mix with dd in order to catch it??

I would, although when DS got it most of the children in preschool had it. So nobody was surprised.

I hope she doesn't suffer to much luckily DS didn't really itch.

HV's don't recommend purposely infecting your child.

Feel bad about it, as at a baby group yesterday, before i knew she had it. Mostly new mums at the group.

Don't feel bad it's not your fault, often better to get it younger as you usually suffer less. I got it at 4 months!

Just made a few phone calls to break the news.

I have heard that it can be better to get it early aswel. At least now its out of the way. Sending dh to get calomine lotion and piriton.
