I just realised I don't even know my daughters blood type. How do you find this out? Don't you need to know in case of an accident or emergency?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

They always check in case of an accident or emergency, even if it is written all over your notes and tattooed on your forehead, because the consequences of a mistake are so huge. Most people don't know their blood type unless they've had surgery in the past, are a blood donor or are pregnant, so it's unusual to know a child's blood type. Haven't a clue what either of my DCs' blood types are (DH doesn't even know what his is, although I am hoping to get him to sign up as a blood donor soon so he would find out then).

I know DTD's because she has been in hospital but I have no idea of DTS' or DD2's.

I know our DD's but only because she was born abroad and it was routine.
She's never needed to know it thank goodness.
