Could this be chicken pox?

Hi,

My DD has one one spot on her black (looks like a small blister, and one under her arm.

She's been off her food for a couple of days, and has a temperature today.

Could this be chicken pox?

Is she likely to get anymore spots? and if so, when?

We're meant to be going away for a night tomorrow, in a hotel, swimming etc!

Thanks.

Could be -- you'll know for sure tomorrow.
I don't know what to say about your planned holiday :(.

If it is, will she definately have more spots by the morning?

I can arrange for her grandparents to look after her while me and DH go to the spa hotel, but I'll need to know first thing!

Thanks.

Yes, (Disclaimer: ime!), she'll have more spots in the morning if it is CP. Look in the groin, other warm places.

How is she?

It's chicken pox!

We got grandparents to look after her while we went to the spa hotel (I did feel guilty, but we didn't know for sure, and the hotel is only 20 minutes away from house, paid for, and it was only 1 night! We came home first thing!)

We were all still unsure this morning, as she only had a couple of spots that are blisters, but a rash everywhere!

The doctor has confirmed it is chicken pox, although he was a little confused too! he thinks the rest of the rash might blister up soon.

She seems really lethargic this afternoon - is that normal?
She's off her food too.

the rash blisters up quite quickly. My two were tired and not themselves for a few days, the worst time is as the rash is blistering, after that they were better again within about a week.
