Any tips for getting toddler to let me spray her nose?

Dd's got a bad cough and doctor has told us to give her frequent nose spray. Short of wrestling and pinning her to the ground which takes 2 of us it's near impossible to get the stuff up her nose. She absolutely hates it - dpn't blame her. Any tips on how to get her to cooperate?

Bribe with chocolate? Probably not what you're supposed to do but it's the only thing I think might work with my dd.

Thanks. I've tried bribing with chocolate and she agrees in principle but when the spray gets near her nose instinct takes over and she won't let us any nearer. Might try an elaborate then.

The only way I ever succeeded with dd2 was to wait till she was asleep Blush

We did learn to decant Otrivine (drops) into an old, well washed out Sudafed spray bottle - far more effective in squirting the stuff up her nose where she needs it, when she needs it!

Only other thing you could try is letting her 'do it herself' by putting her hand on the bottle with yours, so she feels less out of control. Admittedly, has only worked once or twice, but worth a try?

As above - do it when she is asleep! That is what we are doing with our 4 week old baby.
