Might be worth taking a look at the back of her throat - bad breath can be a symptom of something like bacterial tonsillitis. But IIRC by the time you notice the niff, she would be running a temp and not seem fine.

Make sure she's cleaning twice a day thouroughly - set a 2 minute timer if she doesn't have an electric toothbrush

My 7 year old had breath that would strip paint - turned out she needed her adenoids removed. Came out of surgery and announced she could breathe through her nose for the first time.
Could just be a cold or manky teeth but worth getting checked if it goes on for a while.
Happy New Year

Sinuses are normally the first port of call, then throat infections or bad teeth.

Her teath look fine, she doesn't always remember to brush but goes to the dentist every 6 months and never had any problems. Problems with adenoids and tonsils run in the family (dh can't breath through his nose on dss had his tonsils and adinoids out).
