ok please be kind on me,i didnt actually think much of this until i read an article about constipation recently and i honestly thought this was normal as this is my first dd.

My dd is 4 years old and when she poos it comes out in bits and it has always been like this.
She isnt in pain when she does it although thinking about it sometimes she strains.
I am wondering if its possible her diet is to blame as she is a terribly fussy eater and pretty much lives on pasta, bread, yoghurts, cheese etc...
I can get her to eat a fair amount of fruit but she wont touch vegggies or meat.

I am going to book her in at the docs but i am petrified now they will wonder why i have never done anything about it.
im very worried
Sad

We had this with dd, and just like you, we thought it was normal as she's always been like it. It was only when dd2 came along and did one poo a day in her nappy, that we realised dd1 needing clean nappies up to 20 times a day wasn't normal. Can't explain it, but we just got on with it, knew it wasn't quite right but she was so happy and normal otherwise it didn't click.

We had 2 years of doctors and nurses and movicol sachets, but she is now a normal healthy 4 year old.

You're getting it sorted now. It will get better and you're not alone.

Sounds like a diet issue to me. My friend's daughter had similar and recently was diagnosed with various allergies and intollerances.

I am sure the dr will understand why you haven't been in before,

We have been going through this for the last year with DD nearly 5, she gets through more nappies than her 2 yr old brother. Go see GP, we are also under a paediatrician for it aswell.

Good luck and you are not on your own with it.

she drinks a fair amount to drink although i am going to monitor this now and try and get her to drink more water and see if this has any effect.Thinking about it,i dont think she has ever done a "normal" poo
