Dd2 is really windy, farts like a trouper but tonight it has reached a peak, she is screaming in pain, refusing to feed. Tried gripe water but she spits it out. Is there anything else that will help? Does infacol help? Anyone tried bfing teas to help with wind?

Oh I do feel for you! I had this with ds now 14 weeks, the one thing that was brilliant for us was a cranial osteopath - I know not helpful at half 11 but worked so so well!

I too tried everything going with olittle result, however doing bicycles on his legs and "folding" him in half so to speak really helped, and she will grow of it.

Second the knees up to chest/folding in half, we can often get 3 or 4 super-parps in a row out of our little guy!

I'm not surprised they whinge about it so much, if I had that much wind in me I think I'd be pretty upset too!

infacol helped me a lot with DD, but didnt seem to work with DS. i'd say it's worth a try, as it won't do any harm and may help her feel better, poor little mite x

we used camomile tea for DD and it worked brilliantly. She was FF so we used it to make up her bottles but i have heard of BF's using it either by giving the baby cold tea or by consuming it themselves.

On another thread in Breast and Bottle Feeding someone was suggesting fennel tea as well.

HTH.

It is certainly worth a try. It is designed to break down bubbles of wind (sort of anti foaming agent) so makes sense to me.
