This is his usual week

Monday:- After school training for school rugby team, later at night gym training with club rugby team.

Tuesday:- After school training for football team. Later at night fitness training for club rugby team

Wednesday:- After school usually an inter school match of some description.

Thursday :- Nothing!!

Friday:- sometimes plays in a mini football league at 5.30, then training for club football team later on

Saturday:- Gym training for Rugby club in the morning

Sunday:- Club Matches for Rugby and football teams.

When he is not doing any of the above 'organised' activities he is on a field somewhere with a ball and his mates.

He manages this and his school work and really loves it all, and now it has to stop for a minimum of six weeks and he is so down about it.

To make matters worse it's his 14th birthday this weekend and we have had to postpone the paintballing day we had planned for him and his friends. We had bought him a much wanted new bike for his birthday which he isn't going to be able to use, so we are planning on doing a swap with his 'surrpise' Christmas present of Kinect inthe hope that he can use that.

He is so down about it and it's going to be a very long 6 weeks for him.

I was suggesting other things for his birthday but nothing I came up with(Cinema/Pizza etc) appealed to him.

Anyone got any brilliant ideas to help me/him get through the plaster stage and for his birthday?

Thanks

Which wrist has he broken? Dominant or non dominant arm/hand?

Can you do a bowling thing instead maybe?

You have my sympathy. My DS broke his wrist last SUmmer, and his activities were Swimming (at least twice a week) diving & guitar lessons.

He could play PS3 & PC games, so we had friends round for those & DVDs etc. Also, went out to London etc.

They do adjust quickly - but a word of caution. DS had his cast off for a whole month and promptly broke it again (diff bone) - by diving from 3m board, and so had another cast slapped on again. So please don't let your DS overdo things too quick!
