1st immunisations and a cold, do it anyway?

DS is 13.5 weeks, hasn't had his imms yet due to moving house and uninterested doctor's surgery. He's due his first lot tommorrow but has started with runny nose/red, watering eyes/sneezing, DD and I both have a cold so not surprising. Should I take him anyway or is it best to wait?

wait

that's what I thought, I waited for ages with DD but wondered if I was being pfb-ish :)

no! best to wait for his immune system to recover.

Ok, I just cancelled them!
Another question, he's going to be 16 weeks when he finally gets the 1st lot, (assuming he's not ill again) is that a problem? Does it matter that he's not been immunised?

Just a little word of warning (although I'm sure it won't apply)... When DD was in hospital earlier this year, there was a 3 or 4 year old in as well. One of the standard questions they ask is 'Is X up to date with all imms?'. The little boy's mother said no because she was waiting for him to have a 'good few months' clear of anything before he had them done. Turned out he'd had NONE of his imms yet. Every HCP who spoke to them reminded her how important they were.

Obviously I understand not having them during an active cold and delayed DD's MMR for this exact reason, but I, personally, wouldn't try to have them clear of everything for 'a good few months' unless you're going to live as hermits to stop them coming into contact with germs completely! I'm sure you wouldn't, but it's amazing how the weeks and months suddenly turn into years!

DD had her first ones in SCBU, having been born at 27 weeks!
