Early developer or 'normal'

I will also drag dd (9) to the doc this week but thought I'd get some perspective on here as I might be just overly concerned :)

DD (9) seems to be a rather early developer?

She showed me a few stray pubic hairs a couple months ago and I thought, a well it's got to start sometime. However, yesterday she proudly presented me with a rather impressive 'mop'. Shock Hmm I don't see her starkers all that often anymore she's started having 'modesty' attacks.

Also as per my other post she's developed a voracious appetite and initially I put the extra padding down to too much food but am now suspecting curve development...

Any reason for concern you think or pretty standard nowadays?

And boy am I dreading her with PMT
Cheers :)

Well puberty is occurring earlier than it used to.
And especially for girls.

It also occurs earlier in children who are over-weight.

A little while ago the guidelines were updated to match this and now indicate that, without other factors, breast development or pubic hair under the age of 7yrs in Caucasians or 6yrs in African-Caribbean girls.

This is based on large studies of the normal range.

Thanks DBennett, so I don't need to panick just yet and reserve that for when she's a teenager ... Grin

Yust to confuse things further, dd has pubic hair and curves from about 10ish, a beautiful 34b bosom at 12, and mo periods til 14.They are all different = but 9 is pretty standard to start nowadays. Don't forget that she'll need deodorant. That's the one thing i found difficult to deal with, oddly. I hated her needing doedorant!
