Mouth injury advice

My 6 year old nephew has fallen off his bike and has quite serious mouth injuries amongst other things. He was discharged from hospital with no advice and with no further vists planned so we're not too sure what to do.
He hasn't eaten since Monday lunchtime and has had very little to drink. He will only allow a little liquid to be put into his mouth using a pipette and it isn't really enough. He won't have his antibiotics either. His Mum phoned her GP but was just told not to worry - not very good advice!
Can anyone help?

how about ice cream, frozens yoghurts ice poles, ice cubes - even crushed a little. custards , soups - small amounts - plastic spoons. Paracetemol givens with a syringe.straws might help. poor thing.

Well we've tried a few things but i don't think anyone's tried crushed ice so that might be an idea. He won't suck or move his mouth at all so it's really difficult.
I'll let you know how we go on with the ice, thanks!

I assume he was only seen in A&E?

He needs to see a dentist. ASAP.

And he really needs those antibiotics, sorry! If there is dirt in hie wounds he could end up with horrible infections.

DS1 had a nasty fall and couldn't eat/suck for days! He would allow us to put ice cream in his mouth and I just used a syringe to administer the antibiotics. But we did see a dentist and I agree with the post above; his teeth needed to be re-aligned and it's much easier to do sooner rather than later. Just in case.
