DS is to be checked for Landau Kleffner Syndrome and is due to have his sleep deprived EEG next wed morning.

Does anyone know if it is ok for them to fall asleep on the way to hospital or do they need them awake from the start then go to sleep??!

Also any tips on how to stay active all night would be graet Grin having spent many a night awke all night long, I am sure that now when we have to stay awake it will be nigh on impossible!

Sorry, can't help, but sounds tricky! I suggest you call the hospital about the falling asleep in the car - I'd guess it will be tricky to prevent it - maybe loud music and windows open?

As for staying awake all night, how about DVDs with popcorn, favourite foods, new construction kit or something, games on the Wii? Not sure how old your DS is, but looking at Wiki cos I had no clue about LKS, I assume he's older than baby age!

Oooh, not that old then. Gosh it'll be hard to keep him awake, I'd have thought. Double espresso? Grin

Lots of things he enjoys doing - painting, bike riding in the garden at midnight (warn the neighbours first!), nighttime walk around your area seeing how different the world looks?

maxybrown · 05/10/2010 20:34

I don't dare to walk round my neighbourhood in the daytime - let alone the middle of the night Grin

I have thought we can go to 24hour tesco and peruse books and toys with no one else there Grin

I think maybe games and toys, and in a room with the window open!

Would you be completely appalled if I suggested giving him a cola drink (full sugar and caffiene) early in the course of the evening - say, 8pm? xxx

maxybrown · 06/10/2010 12:51

no I wouldn't be apalled - I don't really have hang ups about food Grin good idea. he is not a long sleeper anyhow so wouldn't normally go to bed til about 9 half nine
