allergy maybe ?
ds2 keeps having a problem with his throat. he says he cant really describe what is wrong with it but it feels like he keeps needing to drink, it feels irritated but not sore and not tickly.

it seems to happen after hes gone to bed mostly but happened after school last week also.

he does have pet allergies and severe hayfever which he is on antihistamines for .also allergy induced asthma.

he had a glass of milk tonight before bed and he has been downstairs getting quite upset about his throat again tonight, so wondering if it could be that although he has milk on cereal no probs every morning.

hes 11 btw , any thoughts appreciated !

I have chronic rhinitis (hayfever but not hay). Dont know what Im allergic to but my throat and ears get tickly and irritated. I also use daily anti histimine, sometimes a nasal spray helps. Otherwise maybe the GP can have a look to see is theres anything obvious. Hayfever is the pits!

i dont think its hayfever causing it, he gets an itchy throat with that, hes different with this .
his hayfever is so bad during the summer that the spcialist has had him on a de sensitization programme along with double antihistamine , nasonex and eye drops.

this throat thing is a new one . he says it feels sort of dry as he breathes in . im at a loss , theres no other signs of allergy going on at the moment.

he says he thinks he had milk the last time it happened, last week but i cant remember if hes right.

sounds as if he is a mouth breather. Does he snore sometimes by any chance?

Does it happen more when he's lying down then?

You cough ore at night because the ucus rests on your throat - maybe it's something to do with that?

Do you think he might have swallowed something? I know someone who swallowed a very small bone - they had similar symptoms.
