DD2 is having her MMR today (DD1 had single vax but the clinic closest to us that did them now does not and the closest one I can now find is york and I don't drive) I am crapping myself to tell the truth, so a friend of mine has offered to come with me Smile

I noticed this morning that DD2 has developed a coldsore overnight, now I now she isn't poorly and seems absolutely fine. But now I am all anxious (well even more anxious) about her having the MMR.

Do I need to reschedule? She will be okay having the MMR while having a coldsore.

Please don't laugh at me, I have an anxiety disorder and OCD which is associated with my anxiety, so I know I can completely over react in normal situations. Hence why I am asking all you lovely ladies and gents.

Really? I was really anxious that mine would catch measles in particular prior to vaccination. Think at that time cases were being reported in the news. I was massively relieved to get them vaccinated. Is anyone ever really 100% comfortable with their child being injected with anything though? Its always stressy. To me it was less stressful than leaving them vulnerable to infection.

The nurse has absolutely no concerns wrt the cold sore and so I went ahead with the MMR. DD is 13 months old now. I feel better about her being vaccinated as opposed to not or waiting. I am gutted that I couldn't give her the singles.

Now just to worry about the next couple of weeks!

Glad you're all sorted. I think we all feel guilty if we have to do things differently for one child than another - whatever it is - vaccines/schools/clothes etc. There's nothing unusual about you feeling like that BUT we can only do what we can do. For both your children you have taken steps to keep them as safe as you can. Well done you! Smile

Glad it's all over and done with - you've done the best you could for each of your children within the limits of what was possible for you at the time.

Nice "feet up and glass of wine" time tonight, yes?

Awwwwwwwwwwww thanks everyone. I had a good cry over it all last night and feel so much better.

DD2 is fine this morning but the nurse did say that if she has any reaction it would most likely be 7-10 after her vaccination.
