Hi,

My dd always sms t he one pupi more dialted than the other, she has a pink birthmark around the e that sems to have the bigger pupil.

I mentioned it at the GPs once but was a bit fobbed off with 'its the light in the room'/ 'i can't see it'

But its very obvious alot of the time if you look.

Should I take her to the opticians?!

You need to get her referred to an orthoptist by a GP or a HV .A birthmark near the eye can affect the development of her vision.
Dont be fobbed off,insist.

You need to be seen by an ophthalmologist specialist eye doctor) rather than an orthoptist. The ophthalmologist will then refer on when the cause is found.
Its probably just physiological anisocoria (which is naturally different pupil sizes), but it also could be slight muscle damage from a traumatic birth. The other thing that's a possibility is that the other pupil is abnormally smaller, making the other one bigger. A condition called Horner's can cause this, children normally have a droopy eyelid as well.
Ask your gp for a referral

Agree with Karoleann, though I have two odd pupils with no other conditions (and no birth mark) - and dd has inherited my freaky genetics :)
