Fine bumpy colourless rash on torso - what's causing it?

My DS has got a really rough feeling rash all over his torso. I say rash but it's not really a rash in the sense that it's not at all red but it's tiny bumps quite close together. Not itchy in any way and he isn't unwell.

We've just got back from holiday so could it be caused by sunscreen/chlorine in the pool? Has anyone's DC ever had anything similar?

It could just be a reaction to something like that. My DS has eczema and gets rough skin if he isn't moisturised enough or if he comes into contact with clothes that have been washed in biological detergent. If we don't keep an eye on it then it can turn into patches of eczema sores.

Try moisturising morning and evening with something mild, we use Aveeno cream. Aveeno bath oil might help too, or oats wrapped in a muslin or facecloth and added to the bath.

I will try that bran, thanks. He hasn't had 'proper' eczema since he was a baby but he does have quite dry skin. You can get aveeno in the supermarket can't you? I think I've only got those packets of Oatso Simple :o

ds gets small "goose pimpels" whenever we use any petrolium based creams on him.
can be from he suncream you were using on holiday.

I get my Aveeno from the supermarket, I think Boots will usually have it in too. The cream in a tube is more effective than the lotion IME.

DD has this, one doctor thinks its a heat rash (Does appear in the summer or when we have been on holiday usually and always on torso)

Other doctor thinks its a touch of sensitive skin so has given her some petrolieum cream to add to bath and put on skin.
